Food pics

Dinners have basically been status quo, but here's some food over the last few days:

Camp breakfast! FTW

Quick Cook Steel Cut Oats made with JetBoil, agave nectar, sliced almonds, Craisins... Not a light-weight backpacker setup, but it works for car camping.

SIMBREE!

I realize it probably looks gross, but it's been chilling in my Camelbak since early May. That means its gone through a vast array of temperature differentials. Taste was awesome, just took some pulling apart of the "bites".

Birthday (not mine) dinner! In the produce bags were a head of broccoli and asparagus. Mixed up the two with olive oil, spices, and balsamic vinegar. Mixed up some zucchini squash, bell peppers, and red onion with olive oil and spices separately. Roasted it all and had that on a bed of quinoa. The steaks were grass-fed filet. OMG. So good.

(Not my) birthday dessert.

Who needs restaurants when you eat this well? That was one HEAVY cookie. Not taste-wise, just weight-wise. The ice cream was delish. I'll be honest, my first bowl did not include a cookie, but it did include a dash of Whaler's Vanilla Rum and a bit of chocolate syrup. I need to work out more so I can eat like this every night.

I've seen other cyclists gnoshing on Stoneyfield with fruit, and was ever so jealous. Individual 6oz containers are about as pricey as it gets for regular yogurt. But wait! Henry's now carries Stoneyfield Organic yogurt in 32oz containers, and it is only marginally more than the Brown Cow ($.048/container). So, I picked some up to try.

I'll be honest, I was expecting more. It's good, but my taste buds have acclimated to Brown Cow vanilla. Will report back later after I've had it a few times.
